First Generation BAIC B40 Plus
2021 – present
BAIC B40 PLUS SUVs are either powered by a 2.0-litre petrol or diesel engine. These deliver impressive performance with the petrol variant outputting 160 kW of power at 5500 rpm and 320 Nm of torque at 1750-4500 rpm. Furthermore, both the engine options offer fuel usage that is within the segment average for vehicles of this size – 10.1l/100km from the 2.0L manual petrol model and 8.5L/100km from the 2.0L automatic diesel variant.
This 4-door, 5-seater SUV, also called the BJ40, is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission on the diesel variant and a 6-speed automatic transmission on the petrol engine variant and a four-wheel drive layout and boasts a length of 4,645mm, width of 1,925mm, stands 1,871mm tall and has a 2,745mm wheelbase.
The B40 Plus range, including the City Hunter, Champion, and HONOR models, is also available with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
